About Two Pony Gardens

Two Pony is a farm that practices, encourages, and teaches organic gardening methods. Our main crops are dahlias and heirloom tomatoes. We offer and grow over 100 varieties of pre-started dahlias that are ready for gardeners to plant. We also sell cut flowers as they bloom. We grow over 50 varieties of heirloom tomatoes, selling pre-started tomato plants in the spring and tomatoes as they ripen. We grow green, black, white, pink, orange, yellow and of course, red tomatoes.

This year, aside from dahlias and tomatoes, a selection of basils, peppers, greens, squash and other odds and ends will be available.

Check out the triangle supports for dahlias. I alternate them with 2”x2”x7’ wood stakes. For fertilizing, hydrolyzed liquid fish (not as smelly as fish emulsion), and Shur-gro natural-based dry fertilizer from Canton Mills in Minnesota City and mulch with hand-harvested milfoil which has been removed from local lakes.

Check out our produce and plants for sale at the Midtown Market (http://www.midtownfarmersmarket.org/) starting in May and continuing through the whole growing season.

We deliver our juicy heirloom tomatoes to local restaurants! Contact us (twoponygardens@gmail.com or 763/473-0783) if you’d like to start an account with us.

Y.E.L.L. Project: (check out their website at www.yellproject.org).   They’ve been contributing a lot of good discussion, energy and laughter to the farm!

Pizza Oven: We’re working with master stonemason, Jim Sullivan to build a wood-fired bread oven on the farm!  We’re hoping to have it completed later this spring for some fun pizza nights under the stars this summer.

About the Ponies:

Mickey is the resident Pony these days, though she is really a magnificent Shire draft horse.  She’s Two Ponies in one!
